I don't believe these tags are coming up from the internet. Sometimes when you put a CD into the computer it will query a CD database for tags, however in this case the information is contained within the CD itself. The titles of each individual disc are different. Even before you open itunes you can see the file name of the CD and they are what i listed earlier in this thread. itunes is simply grabbing the name of the disc as the album name.

In the case of the CDDB that is often used for song names as well and in this case all of them are correct. Except Disc 3 Track 5 which has the title "GDTRF OK." Cute.

There was no track info embedded in the CD's - I know because my subscription to the info-matching service has lapsed, and I had to enter all of the track info from scratch. It's likely that you were getting shared info from a variety of user sources on the 'net.

how would that put a title on the CD? I put the disc in, it shows up on my desktop with a name. Thats the name that is then in the album column of itunes. Additionally when i hit the get info button about the disc drive it has all the info about each track already on the CD. I do not believe this is coming from the net before I open itunes. I think its on the CD. If you look at the files on the disc you don't have any names on the tracks? (sorry i am on a mac so I am not completely sure how to say the equivalent in PC talk. If you look at what is in your C: or D: drive you don't have names on the files?)

btw Congrats on your victory last night. Maybe i will send you some track titles....

I don't know nothing about no macs, so at this point I would only be guessing ... but I use dmc music convertor, and believe that it would have pulled the info from the disc if it had been there, because it usually does. I still suspect that your mac is opening a program there on your desktop, and that the info you see is coming from that program rather than from the disks, but again I am just guessing and concede that I could be completely wrong.

Re: track titles, I could really use some new ones. I seem to have way too many that are called "Me & My Uncle".

Peace.
